Hajj is Obligatory

Hajj to the house of Allah (the Kaaba) in Makkah is obligatory upon a Muslim to perform once in a lifetime if one has the means.

Allah the Exalted said: (And Hajj to the House (Kaaba) is a duty that mankind owes to Allah, those who can afford the expenses (for one’s conveyance, provision and residence); and whoever disbelieves, then Allah stands not in need of any of the ‘Alamin (mankind and jinn and all the worlds)) (The Noble Qur’an 3:97)
